QEFG ECO-FRIENDLY GAS INSULATED RING MAIN UNIT
The QEFG eco-friendly gas insulated ring main unit (RMU) is independently developed by Shintech Electric Canada. It uses a kind of safety and environment-friendly eco-friendly gas as the substitute for SF6 as the insulation, thus, the pollution that caused by SF6 gas leaking is eliminated. Since this type of RMU has high safety in operation, it is applied in power distribution system as a core unit.
The QEFG eco-friendly gas insulated RMU uses inert gases, such as nitrogen, to play the role of insulation, thus, it is better for environment. Moreover, this equipment is in line with the environment friendly trend, therefore, the eco-friendly gas insulated RMU becomes the most popular RMU in Canada. Compared to the solid insulated RMU, the QEFG eco-friendly gas insulated RMU is more lightweight, that means the transportation and installation of this equipment is convenient. The conductive part of the main circuit is sealed in the N2 gas and the high-voltage electric conductor is enclosed, which means these parts could not be influenced by the change of external environment. This equipment could be used under the adverse circumstances, and operated safely in long-term. It doesn’t have risk of electric shock and fire, and the good gas-tightness ensures it does not to be maintained without 30 years.
